How to Beat Eternatus in PokéRogue: Wave 200 Guide
Eternatus is the final boss of Classic Mode on wave 200. The battle has two distinct phases. The first is a single battle against Eternatus; the second begins after it reaches its final shield and transforms into Eternamax Eternatus, restoring its health and changing the fight into a double battle.

A Simple Battle Plan
Before Wave 200
- Heal the whole party and restore the PP of moves that matter in a long boss fight.
- Move critical held items to the Pokémon most likely to use them early; expect the Mini Black Hole to steal items later.
- Choose the two Pokémon you want active together after the transformation.
- Check whether the team can survive Flamethrower, Poison attacks and Dragon attacks through switches or resistances.
During Phase 1
- Use safe turns to lower Eternatus's Accuracy, Speed or offensive stats.
- Avoid applying all limited status or seed resources too early because the transformation clears them.
- Trigger the transformation with enough healthy party members and PP remaining for phase 2.
During Phase 2
- Reapply status, Leech Seed, Salt Cure or another chosen chip strategy immediately when safe.

Type Matchups: Useful but Not an Automatic Win
Eternatus is Poison/Dragon, so Ground, Psychic, Ice and Dragon attacks can be effective. Fairy types avoid Dragon damage, while Steel types handle Poison attacks well. However, Flamethrower punishes many Steel choices, and Cross Poison threatens many Fairy choices.
A Pokémon such as Tinkaton can create useful immunities, but it is not an automatic answer because Flamethrower still covers its Steel typing. Plan a partner or switch that handles Fire pressure.
Why Overleveling Can Backfire
Dynamax Cannon becomes stronger when its target is above the current level cap. At the wave 200 cap of level 200, a target at level 210 causes Dynamax Cannon to reach double its normal power. Rare Candy overleveling can still help in other ways, but it should not be treated as a free defensive advantage against Eternamax.
