PokéRogue Game Modes

PokéRogue offers different modes with their own team-building rules and progression systems. New players can initially access Classic Mode and Daily Run.

Classic Mode

Classic Mode is the main PokéRogue experience. Choose Pokémon from your unlocked starter collection, build a team within the available cost limit and progress through waves of wild encounters, trainers and bosses. During the run, you can catch Pokémon, collect items and improve your team before facing more difficult battles.

Daily Run

Daily Run is a rotating challenge that gives players a predefined starting situation based on the same daily seed. A new Daily Run becomes available every 24 hours, allowing players to compare routes, encounters and strategies for the same challenge.

Getting Started

PokéRogue requires an account before you can begin or continue a run.

Sign In or Register: Open the game and sign in to your existing account. New players will need to create an account first.

PokéRogue Gameplay and Progression

Meta Progression: PokéRogue focuses on progression across multiple runs. Pokémon and useful traits obtained during a run can improve the starter options available in future runs.
Starter Pokémon: Before starting a run, choose Pokémon from your unlocked starter collection. Each starter has a cost, so your team must stay within the cost limit of the selected game mode.
Catching Pokémon: Battle wild Pokémon across different biomes. Lower a Pokémon's HP, use stronger Poké Balls, or inflict status conditions to increase your chances of catching it.
Egg Gacha: Use Egg Vouchers in the Egg Gacha to obtain Eggs. Hatched Pokémon can unlock new starters, Egg Moves, and other useful traits for future runs.
Improving Starters: Catching or hatching Pokémon can improve the matching starter in your collection by unlocking better Abilities, Forms, Shiny Variants, Natures, and IVs.
Starter-Specific Candies: Catching, hatching, and using Pokémon rewards species-specific Candies. These Candies can be spent to upgrade and strengthen your starter Pokémon over time.
Battle System: Use moves, switch Pokémon, and manage your team carefully during battles against wild Pokémon, trainers, and powerful bosses.
Item Collection: After many battles, visit the reward screen and shop to buy useful items and select rewards that can help your team survive future encounters.
Team Management: Create a balanced team with strong type coverage, useful Abilities, and effective moves. Smart team management becomes increasingly important as the difficulty rises.
